How to get the most of your equipment? Happy New Year to all our readers! We wish you the very best this 2021.
Our first blog of the year has to do with the server’s lifespan. It can diminish considerably if it isn’t adequately looked after.
Equipment that is serviced regularly and is collocated in a controlled environment will work ideally; consequently, you’ll get the most out of its lifespan.
As with any device, there are two factors that need to be taken into consideration: the hardware and software.
As we mentioned, it is fundamental that the equipment be in a controlled environment. This means that the area is dust and particle free; and there is no water source near the equipment. Air conditioners are used to maintain cool temperatures and therefore, preventing the equipment from overheating.
This part is vital. Make sure your equipment has the latest versions of software installed on them. In addition, it is important not to use any software that is download from websites of suspicious origin.
Another factor that we cannot ignore is the cyber-security. Always ensure that your servers are protected against DDoS and cyber-attacks.
Navégalo Data Center, as we have previously mentioned, is certified Rated 3, which assures the ability to service any part of our Data Center without any interruption in our service.
In December, we performed our semi-annual maintenance on our UPSs, an essential component to the electrical backbone at Navégalo Data Center. Our crew verified each and every one of our modules, guaranteeing our 99.90% uptime.
See you next week!
